Kingsdown Golf Clubs, two of the most attractive courses in the West Country. Eighty three Members competed for the Scratch cups and handicap prizes, enjoying glorious playing conditions on both days. The courses were playing firm and fast due to the recent dry weather and the greens on both days were very good, if not a little tricky, with their subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) undulations. At Dinner we were joined by the Bath Captain Roger Williams and his partner Carol. Roger received the £500 donation towards the Bath junior section from GSGB Chairman Linda Hill who was very proud to welcome GSGB members to her home club. We were grateful for the efforts of our Starters for the day, Linda's husband Robert who is the club President and another of our members, Angie Frith who was on the 8th Tee. The welcome from everyone at Bath and Kingsdown, particularly the Secretaries Nick, Neil and the bar staff, could not have been better and a wonderful two days were enjoyed by all.
The Scratch Trophy for men was successfully defended by David Archibald from East Herts with 62 points and the ladies Scratch Trophy was won by Ruth Lindley from Hartlepool who scored 57 points. The best handicap aggregate scores were recorded by Ian Norris from Henley, playing in his first GSGB meeting, with 71 points and Kathryn Archibald from East Herts with 68. A full list of the prize winners can be seen below.
The next event will be the AGM Meeting at Ramside Hall on July 21/22nd.
