The Golf Society of
Great Britain 2016 AGM took place
at Foxhills, Surrey on 26 th/27 th July.
Eighty two members enjoyed fine weather for the duration of their stay with
temperatures thankfully being well below the 30 degrees experienced on our previous
visit. Although rain threatened on the 2nd day everyone got round without the
need for waterproofs. The golf courses are both tree-lined parkland and are very
picturesque with high quality greens. Both were very much enjoyed by the
members. The courses finish on a huge double green in front of the terrace area
which was an ideal location for the Pimms evening
before Dinner on Wednesday evening.
The accommodation and
facilities of the Hotel are of the highest order and I'm sure that we will
return sometime in the future.
The Handicap Cups for
the best two day aggregate scores were won by Pete Carpenter (Gog Magog) with 72 points and Clare Fulton (Woburn) 69 points.
John and Clare Fulton with 137 points, claimed the Enjoy Golf Together Trophy
by having the best husband and wife aggregate score over the two days. You can view photos from the event here
Our Chairman, Mr Robin Moser presented the prizes and the list of winners
can be found below.
Our next Meeting will
take place at Trentham & Beau Desert on August 22nd/23rd.
The 2017 AGM will
be held in Cheshire at The Mere Hotel on
10th/11th July.
